“I thought you knew me better than that, Kazuha! Did you really expect
me to use the front door, like a normal person?”
He’s only teasing despite the hurt leaking into his voice, and his grin is proof enough. Kazuha knows he’s not exactly a ‘normal person’, and frankly, he’s more offended that she would clump him in with the common rabble.
“I only use the front door for people I don’t like. It makes them confused
and scared.”
He slides past Kazuha and through the doorway, but not before producing a rose the same color as her bow and sticking it in her hair.
“You know, that’s a magician thing. When you do a trick too much,
people start to expect the trick, so you have to change it up and do
something else.”
